Golf in La Porte, Indiana

Buddy & Couples Golf Weekend trips to La Porte, Indiana are enjoyed by golfers from throughout northern Indiana, southern Michigan and Chicagoland.

Beechwood Golf Course

Beechwood Golf Course is a beautiful 18-hole championship golf course, designed by renowned architect William Diddle. The course, which was constructed in the early 1930s as a gift from the Fox family, has seen major upgrades in the past few years with the renovation of the clubhouse, installation of a double-row irrigation system and construction of the Chalik Pavilion.

The traditional layout and masterful design allows players to use every club in their bag. It is a must-play for golfers of any skill level, and the economically-priced greens fees and memberships make Beechwood one of the best deals in the state. The course is enjoyed by golfers from throughout northern Indiana, southern Michigan and Chicagoland.

For the past 82 years, La Porte High School has hosted the Uebele Invitational for boys golf at Beechwood. The annual event, named for longtime La Porte golf enthusiast Herman “Butch” Uebele, is the longest consecutively run high school golf invitational in the United States. On the girls’ side, the course annually hosts the Ford Invitational, named for the outstanding local golfer and former high school assistant coach, Pat Ford.
